Marilyn Holien Ettesvold skriver: "Ole staked outa claim in Ericson Towship next to his brother, Erik, and his mother kept the house for him. In 1890 he married Gertrude Knutsdtr Holien and his mother then made her home with Knut and Betsey.
Ole and Gertrude had seven children, but only a daughter, Alyce, survived childhood. In 1916 they moved into Granite Falls to live, and Ole died there in 1924. Han kalles Ole Knutson Viken av Marilyn Ettesvold.
