Notes: Went by name of Jacob. Was living with uncle Gilbert Ellingboe in 1880. Belonged to Local 420, City of Memphis, Tennessee, 31 Aug 1916 and paid dues to 1927. On union records birthdate was given as 17 May 1870. He worked for Southern Seating and Cabinet, Jackson, Tennessee. Made pews for the Salt Lake Temple. Worked for Nicolai Nipitsch mill as cabinet maker. Had an uncle who was such a hard driver that he quit. According to Mabel Hoch, "Uncle Jake had the wanderlust." He may have been a fireman on the Illinois Central Railroad. |
