Notes:

In the Minnesota Territorial and State Census for Pillsbury (near Kerkhoven), Swift County, dated 1 May 1885, G.O. Ellingboe, age 26, born in Norway, is listed with wife Ida, age 24, born in Wisconsin, and children Alma, age 2, and Robert, age 1, both born in Minnesota. This is likely to be Jørgen O. Ellingboe, because of his age and the common use of George instead of Jørgen after arrival in America.

In the Minnesota Territorial and State Census for Kerkhoven, Swift County, dated 25 Jun 1895, George Ellingboe is listed as age 36, born in Norway, with wife Sarah, age 22, born in Minnesota, and children Alma, age 12, Elmer, age 11, and Ida, age 8. This must be the same George who was found in the 1885 census, because of his age and the age of his daughter Alma. Sarah must be his second wife and Elmer is probably the same son as Robert. (Other records show a Robert E. Ellingboe.)

The only one of these persons found in the 1900 U.S. Census is Alma M. Ellingboe, age 17, living in Arctander, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota. She was a boarder in the Syer family household.

In the 1910 U.S. Census for Crow River, Stearns County, Minnesota, George O. Ellingboe, age 51, born in Norway, is found with his wife Sarah, age 37, born in Minnesota, and five children, all born in Minnesota. The children are Harry C., age 12, Verda L., age 10, Joseph S., age 6, Milred L., age 4, and William R., age 2.

None of these people were found in the 1920 U.S. Census.

According to Arta Juneau, George had ten children.
