Janice Gail Ison, 66, Green Bay, died Monday, March 21, 2011, at her home. She was born April 28, 1944, in Green Bay, to Dr. George Washington and Athea (Thompson) Ison. Janice worked as a teacher's aide for many years with the Green Bay School District. She loved reading, her cats, spending time with her friends, fishing, gardening and cooking. Janice was an avid sports fan. She loved going to the casino and traveling, especially with her mother when she was younger.
Survivors include her aunt, Eunice Samz, Crandon; a step-nephew, Bill Ison, Crandon; four first cousins, Bill Gilmore, Crandon; Tom Gilmore, Milwaukee; Jim Gilmore, Crandon; Susan Mitchell, Racine; ten other cousins throughout the United States, Dennis, Milwaukee; Lynn, California; Jim, California; Valerie, Maryland; Larry, California; Patricia, Oregon; Jenny, Oregon; Dave, Alabama; Mike, Washington; Franky, Wisconsin; and special friends in Crandon and Green Bay, Elsie Wagner, Alice Schilling, Connie King, Nancy Schafranski, Mike Hobbs, Tom May.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents and seven aunts and uncles.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. The Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Diane Rew officiating. Burial will be in Crandon Lakeside Cemetery, Crandon, Wis.
