- Moved to Ridgefield in 1732.
At a special Ridgefield town meeting n the 30th of January 1775, Jacob Jones was one of the men chosen as a Committee of Inspections in agreement with the 11th article of the Continental Congress regarding the measures directed for securing and defending the rights and liberties of the United American Colonies. It was at this town meeting that an earlier resolve of April 10th supporting the king was rejected in favor of transferring loyalty to the Continental Congress. [5]
