The relationship of this Fred Kasten to Ferdinand Kasten is speculative. There were other Kasten families in the same area, including Louis Kasten (age 45 in 1870) in Gibson, Christian Kasten (Casten) (age 46 in 1870) in Two Rivers. Fred and Christian Kasten were in the 1860 census for Two Rivers. Also included in the 1860 census was Charles Kasten in Grafton, Ozaukee County, WI (p. 749), and John Kasten, 3 W. Manitowoc, Manitowoc County, WI (p. 627).
