  Notes	Arrived US 1850 with uncle Ivar Gullikson Berge. The three Berge brothers were well established by 1856; the time had come for marriage. Ole Olsen Berge, 24, was first, marrying Berit Andersdatter Veblen on January 31, 1856 and moving onto his own farm. Then, in May, Iver Olsen Berge married Sig ri Eriksdatter Roblyey, 24, Now Gulbrand began "thinking of doing likewise". Putting action to the thought, he became angaged to Marit Olsdattter Marken, 20, who lived with her parents on a farm about one mile south of Gulbrand's. The couple too k their vorws January 31, 1857 in nearby Valders Church, Rev. Jacob A. Ottesen officiating.
