- Valentine was a merchant, working in and out of Boston. At the time of his marriage to Mary Eaton, he was a widower with several children. They moved to Boston, where Mary was admitted to the church 15 May 1647 and their son John was baptized 22 Aug 1647. He was of great public spirit, grantee in 1641, with others of the town, and the week following was made a selectman, rechosen 1642, 43, 44 and 46. [2]
