- His obituary states that he was the oldest son of Bliss and Rachel Parmeter. He left two sisters and one brother, Lloyd Parmeter, the latter living at Colosse, and five sons and one daughter all living in the West. He died at the home of his son Will, where all his children were present. He was buried next to his first wife, the mother of his children. His eldest son, Rev. John Parmeter of Willmar, Minnesota, visited his father about a year before his death and Benjamin accompanied him back to Willmar where he remained with his children. He was a member of the G.A.R. at Mexico, New York, and a member of the M.E. church at Texas. "His life was one of kind thoughts of others, of unselfish devotion to his many friends. He was of a sunny disposition, which helped win many friends. Of him it can be truly said, none knew him but to honor and respect him." [2]
