    Notes
    • Born at Børhus, a crofter's farm under Tørpe I. In the 1801 census she is listed as a servant girl on the Sønderohl farm, 16 years old, unmarried. On p. 66 of Frøholm's "Vang B", she is listed as dying in 1832, but on p. 482 she is listed as having died in 1807. In the church book, her death is given as 1807. She probably died giving birth to her daughter Berit. On the other hand, she may have lived longer, considering that a daughter Kirsti, listed in Vang B, p. 66, was born in 1810 and Anne Tollevsdatter was listed as the mother. (In the church book records for 1832, p. 144, No. 7, an Anne Tollevsdatter Nordland, 55 yrs., is listed as having died 20 Dec. 1832 and buried 6 Jan 1833.) It is conceivable that Anders Knudson married a woman with the same name as his first wife. A viable alternative is that his first wife was actually Anne Tollevsdatter, born 1771, the illegitimate child of Tollev Lerohl and Berit Nilsdatter. [6]
