- He started the country store in 1890 and began to build the Fagerli hotel in 1885. It was ready in 1886, with 12 beds. By 1906 there were enough beds for 15 guests. In addition to the hotel and store, Torstein had a taxidermy business. A large display of his stuffed animals was displayed in a special room at the hotel.
