    Notes
    • Donavan Eide, 57, of Tioga died Friday, April 22, 2011 at his Tioga residence. Friends are encouraged to sign the online register book and give their condolences at www.fulkersons.com. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Tioga. Pastor Rodger Olson will officiate and interment will be in the St. Olaf Cemetery, northwest of Tioga. Donavan Blair Eide was born Dec. 11, 1953 to the proud parents of Donna Gearey Eide and Mervill (Bud) Eide. In his youth, Donavan enjoyed the life of a hobby farmer tinkering with equipment and dreaming of the day he would own a team of draft horses which he reached when he purchased prized Percherons, Bonnie and Babe. He attended Tioga High School graduating in 1972. Shortly after graduation Donavan began working in the oil field. Donavan joined the Amerada Hess Corporation July of 1979. Donavan was a hardworking, conscientious employee who was very concerned about the welfare and safety of his coworkers and those he supervised. Donavan retired from Amerada Hess in December of 2010 earning an award for 30 plus years of service. On July 10, 1993, after 20 short years of dating, Donavan married Shelly Anderson. Some of Donavan's most peaceful moments were vacations in Hawaii with Shelly, Kelly, Kevin and Julie, walking in the sand and watching the sun set over the ocean. In retirement, he was looking forward to spending time with his lovely wife doing the things he loved: yard work, golfing, fishing, cooking and vacationing in Hawaii.

Donavan's whit, charm and his movie star looks (he loved to primp), will be missed by his family, friends and communities of Tioga and Minot. Donavan was preceded in death by his father Bud; grandparents Elsie and Palmer Skaar, Dena and Ted (Theodore) Eide, and Roy Gearey. He is survived by his wife Shelly; mother Donna; brothers Lynden and Kevin (Julie); sister Kelly (Gene) Anderson. He was adored by his numerous nieces and nephews, loved by his many aunts and uncles and treasured by many friends and family. Friends may call at the Fulkerson Funeral Home in Tioga on Monday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to the services. [1]
