  Marriage	Nobletown was renamed Hillsdale, which is now in Columbia County. Columbia County did not exist until 1786. At one time, Hillsdale (or Nobletown) and other towns in this area were included within Berkshire County, Massachusetts, because of an ongoing border dispute. In a 1773 agreement between Massachusetts and New York, the current border was fixed, but not ratified by both states until 1901.
