    Notes
    • Pierre and Antoinette came to Niew Amsterdam (now New York City) with their nine-year-old son Michael in 1663, aboard de Bonte Koe (the Spotted Cow). Originally they are believed to have come from Coutrai, Belgium. As Huguenots, they had been driven by the Spanish invaders to Mannheim, Germany.

They settled at Bedford, Long Island (part of present-day Brooklyn) where they operated a grist mill. In 1670 Pierre was a trustee of the town. He became an overseer of Brooklyn in 1671. They removed to New Harlem in 1684 and soon moved to Kingston, Ulster County, where he died in 1701. Their only known child was Michael. [1]
