- He was a soldier in 1770 and was called to the body guard in Copenhagen. In 1767, at 67 inches height, he was the tallest soldier in Vang. At that time he was called E. T. Strønd. Eirik borrowed 240 rd from Hallvard E. Lo at Borgund and altogether 400 rd from Helge A. Kjerstein in 1799 and 1805. When his estate was settled in 1807, the gross value was 727 1/2 rd, including the farm's value of 600 rd, but the net value, after settling debts, was only 123 1/4 rd. [1]
