Notes |
- According to obit. he had a great physical handicap.
They lived on the old homestead, one mile east of town, on the hill. "Tom had diabetes and had both legs amputated below his knees. He pulled himself along the ground and drove a tractor for fieldwork. He kept a lovely garden." Although it has written that he was a contortionist with the Ringling Brother's Circus, this is not true. The contortionist may have been Thomas Henry Helgeson Ellingboe (1882-1978) according to Vickie Hart. [3]
