Veole Ellingboe
Veole Soberg Ellingboe, 74, of Lakeville, died on June 3, 2004 at Ridges Hospital in Burnsville.
She was born Oct. 11, 1929 to Palmer and Judith (Sundal) Soberg in rural Lakeville. She attended Lakeville schools and graduated from Lakeville High School in 1946. She then attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis. On Jan. 28, 1948, she married Oscar Ellingboe, of rural Lakeville.
During her life, she worked at a variety of occupations. She worked in the bookkeeping department for Lakeville School District; as a reporter and feature writer for the Dakota County Tribune; she coordinated the computer systems of Republic Airlines during its various mergers; and later she owned a gift store in downtown Lakeville known as Veola?s Gifts. Her most recent occupation was as a sales representative for Weekenders Clothing.
She was active with the Sons of Norway as program director, the Alumni Association of Augsburg College and served on various planning committees for events at Luther Seminary. She was active at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Lakeville where she served on the church council and was most recently part of the planning committee for adult education at the church. She was also active in Lutheran Brotherhood branch activities, Dakota City and the Trondhjem Lutheran Church Preservation Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; one sister; and her husband.
She is survived by three sons, Rev. Craig (Mary), of Northfield, Randy (Lynn), of Woodbury, and Bradley (Karen), of New Mexico; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; five sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held June 8 at St. John?s Lutheran Church, Lakeville, with Rev. Gregg Helland officiating. Interment was at Highview Christiania Lutheran Cemetery, south of Lakeville. Arrangements were completed with White Funeral Home, Lakeville.
