Notes |
- She attended school in the Maynard area, completed normal training in Madison and taught rurral school near Maynard. In 1930 she was single and living with her brother George and his wife in Maynard. She lived in Minneapolis several years and then moved to Renville where she cared for her mother. She moved to Montevideo in the early 1980s and lived at the Clara City nursing home for a couple of years before her death. She was survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters.
"Contrary to what is commonly thought, Agnes Ellingboe was married at one time. Her husband's name was Hillman. They had a child that died. They apparently lived in the Twin Cities area. This can be verified in the vital records of Minnesota. Agnes was either separated or divorced and spent many years living in the Maynard area, and most of us assumed (incorrectly) that she was single. That she was married has been confirmed by a neighbor who helped Agnes during her last years. When filling out government paperwork, Agnes asked if they wanted her married name." [1, 3, 4]
