  • Name Nils Jenson SEMELENGE
Birth Abt 1510  Semelenge, Vestre Slidre, Oppland Fylke, Norway Find all individuals with events at this location
    Gender Male
    Death Yes, date unknown
    Notes
    • He was a judge in Stavanger, named in 1550 and 1559, when he was one of the nobelmen who took part in the crowning of Fredrik II in Copenhagen. When he retired from his judgeship, he moved back to the Semelenge property in Vestre Slidre. We know very little about the Losna family, because their archive was brought to Denmark by a relative, Marcus Rosenkrantz in Fredrikshald, and was destroyed by fire in 1826.

See Budstikken, Vol. 29 #1, May 1998, pp. 28-31, for article reprinted by permission of AVISEN, SAGS, by Lars Løberg. Also see Norsk Slektshistorisk Tidskrift, Vol. 34, 1993, "Semeleng-ætten I Valdres og Losna-ætten I Sogn" by Anders Bjønnes, Lars Løberg, Tore H. Vigerust and Tor Weidling. The latter article brings up-to-date information published between 1882 and 1920, which should no longer be considered factual.
