- Obituary: A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, in Canby Funeral Chapel for Dorothy Shirley Ellingboe, who died Oct. 5 at age 81. Mrs. Ellingboe was born Dorothy Shirley Christiansen on Jan. 7, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A pastor's wife, she lived in Africa for 10 years and throughout the United States before moving in 1975 to Portland and in about 1981 to Canby. She was a receptionist in the radiology clinic at Legacy Samaritan Hospital and later a chocolate maker at Filbert Treats in Canby before retiring in the early 1990s. In 1953, she married the Rev. Robert "Ted" Ellingboe; he died in 1997.
Survivors include her daughters, Elisabeth Molatore and Christine Ruth Ellingboe; son, Jonathan C.; sister, Anne Engvaldsen; brothers, Robert Christiansen and Kenneth Christiansen; and three grandchildren. [2]
