- From Ancestry.com file: "Nathaniel Wilder, son of Nathaniel and gr-grandson of Thomas Wilder was a farmer and lived in what is now Sterling, Massachusetts. Married soon after the Indi an War and had 12 children. He was a Captain in the Militia. m. 26 Dec 17 07 Petersham, MA (?) In early settlement of Petersham, Mass. when he was about 60 years of age, he purchased 700 acres of land and removed to the new town. He was a man of great force of character, never failing in an enterprise because of its difficulty and did much to give strength and character to the new town. His name was first in the list of members of the Congregational Church a t its organization in 1745. A monument at the grave of his daughter, Damaris , places her death in 1747."
