Notes |
- Had three children at time of John's death. She was imprisoned during the witchcraft hysteria., Her mother, Rebeccah Fox, wrote a petition on her behalf to the Governor and Council in which she describes her daughter as having been "a person crazed, distracted, and broken in mind; and that she has been so these twelve years and upwards." It appears that there was no response to the petition, except, perhaps, to delay her trial. She remained in prison until the following January, when she was indicted, tried and acquitted. [1, 4]
