  Notes	Olavas T. Groe was the brother of Ole T. Groe, who married Gertrude's sister, Anna Simmons. According to Miriam Gowdy, Olavas divided his land among his 4 sons when they were grown, giving them each a 160 acre farm. When Olavas grew old, non e of his sons would take him in. He came to live with the John J. Simmons family for some four or five years; and when the family moved into Northwood, he stayed with Nels Simmons widow Gertie until he died.
