      Lieutenant General Georg Frederik von Krogh was born Jan. 29, 1687, at Bergen, and served as adjutant general under Cicignon during 1709 to 1720 when the Swedish army invaded Norway and even occupied the capital, Kristiania for several weeks. Aft er the successful conclusion of the war, he became commandant at Frederiksteen, later at Trondheim, and in 1758 he was appointed commanding general for the northern part of Norway. In 1760 King Frederik V conferred upon him the title "White Knig ht". He married Hedwig Augusta Brügmann (1707 -1740) and lived at the sumptuous Öyegaard estate near Trondheim. There he died on Apr. 29, 1768, and was buried in Trondheim's Cathedral on May 13.
