    Rangdi og Jacob hadde 10 barn: Elena 1853-1930, Iver 1855-1931, Andrew 1857-1861, Albert 1859-1922, Julia 1862-1940, Anna 1864-1835, Amelia 1864-1935, Sarah 1869-barn, Josie 1872-1872 og Joseph 1872-1873. Fadderne hennes ved dåpen var Anne Torstei nsdtr Søyne, Anne Torkildsen Hemsing, Knut Simonsen Søyne, Wilhelm Olsen Tune og Torstein Ivarsen Hemsing. 23 år gammel dro hun til Amerika, og var der som pioner. Hun arbeidet nær Racine i Wisconsin. Hun hadde en god stemme og sang i kirkekoret der. Det samme gjorde Jacob Opdal (Willard Torgrim: Family ties from Norway, book II). Han var en nykomlin g fra Norge, som arbeidet i J.I Case Machine Company i Racine, hvor de lagde tønnehjul. Ifølge Amelia (Anne)Jacobson, fortalte presten Andrewson at Jacob Opedal var en ganske sky mann. Han ville følge Rangdi hjem fra sangøvelsene i kirken, men han gikk altid flere meter bak henne. I 1952 giftet de seg og bodde en tid i Beloit, Wisconsin, Men i 1857 fikk de "land" i nærheten av Clinton, Wisconsin, og bygde opp en bra farm der. De fikk 10 barn, 5 av dem døde som småbarn. De bodde på farmen sin resten av livet og bidro mye til utviklingen av det vesle samfunnet. Randi ble 85 år gammel. Begge er gravlagt på Bergen Cementery i Clinton.|

    Hun dro sammen med søsterem Rangdi. Kjersti og Gudbrand ble vertskap for mange nordmenn som kom over til det nye landet. Bl.a. bodde nevøene hennes Einar og Andrew Syndrol hos dem, mens de ble amerikanisert. Hun kalles "Aunti Rustad" Willard Torgr im skriver om henne: Kjersti Söndrol came tu USA in 1950. She was married July 23, 1854, at Beloit, Wisconsin, to Gulbrand O. Rustad (1826-1903). They eventually made their home at Decorah, where he was a prominent and respected citizen. He worked at the Augsburg Publ ishing House, Decorah, and was also a merchant. For many years he was the treasurer for the "Norske Synode", and was always active in church affairs. He served the community in many ways and was one of the men who selected the site for Luther Coll ege, in which he was much interested. Kjersti was a great helper and was called "Auntie" Rustad by a great many people. She welcomed relatives who came over from Norway as well as those already here, and made a home for her nephews, Einar and Andrew, and others when they first came ov er.

    Han dro til tanten kirsti (Syndrol Rustad) i Decorah og bodde der til han kunne nok engelsk og amerikansk leveset til å klare seg på egenhånd. Han pleide å fortelle at han tjente sine første penger i Amerika ved å slepe på gjødsel til 15 dolla r i måneden. Senere slo han serg ned i Esterville hvor han hadde suksess som kjøpmann og investerte stort i banker og i tømmerhandel. Da han døde var han den rikeste mannen i emmet County (Willard Torgrim), så lenge forteldrene levde i Vang, reiste han og broren Andrew dit hvert femte år for å besøke dem.

    To år etter at Einar hadde reist til Amerika, fulgte Andris etter broren. Han skrev Andrew, og tok også inn hos "tante Kristi" eller "Aunti Rastad" som de kalte henne.     n", Onkel Nils var betjent hos ham like etter århundreskiftet. Butikken hans står nå på Fagernes Museum (Valdres folkemuseum) og Olaf og Guri Bøland har kjøpt bolighuset. Hans tvillingsøster het Guri, hun døde ugift i 1911 Han kjøpte Søvelheim av Jon K Vold (Kattevold) mot å betale 5000 kroner for varelagret i 1908. Forretningsavtalen kjøpte han av Eivind E Dal i 1909.

    Forretningen ble nedlagt da "Ola i Bu'n" sluttet i 1950 åra, huset sto tomt til det ble overfort til Valdres Folkemuseum. Deres bolighus ble senere kjopt av Guri og Olaf Boland. Vang handelsforening holdt til her fra 1870 årene i et gammelt hus som ble flyttet hit. De som styrte butikken var (Valdresboka bd.IV s.205f) Ola Aslaks. Haugen (Kvam) eller Lajord de (1845- ) som reiste til USA. Deretter Thomas H Kjerstein (1819- 1884) grb på Kjerstein 12/1. Så fikk styret tak i Hans Eriksen fra Holmestrand, som drev butikken godt. Det var meningen å selge butikken til ham, men styret kom til at han var for gammel og solgte isteden til Eivind Dal som hadde vært krambusvein hos Eriksen i flere år. Hans Eriksen og kona Camilla, som var lærer, bodde på Tune. Hun var fra Oslo, og da Eivind Dal overtok butikken, flyttet de til Oslo og startet ny butikk der. Eivind E Dal (fra dal 76/) drev fra 1886-1902, da flyttet han til Oslo, men kom tilbake til Fagernes i 1907 og drev Elvely hot ell. Jon Boyesen Wangensteen var en tid krambusvein hos ham, og i en periode overlot han hele driften til Mads Nertost og broren Andris Dal. Han solgte butikken til John Vold som drev den til 1908, da Ola i Bu'n kjopte. Onkel Nils (Nils N Boe) var krambusvein en stund. Jeg husker godt Ola i Bu'n.
