    Han er den mektige Eidsvoldspresten som var sokneprest på Eidsvold i over 50 år. (Se Eidsvoll bygds historie bd.II s 396). Han etterlot seg et stort bibliotek, som vitnet om lærdom og ble også rik ved oppkjøp av mange jordeiendommer og ved å lån e ut penger. Dessuten hadde han en årlig lønn som sokneprest på 500 rd. pr år. Han etterlot seg en formue på 6000 rd. Et meget stort beløp på den tiden. Han gift to ganger.
