Text geschrieben von Irene Laubereau im Februar 1938: Iginia Gogala v. Leesthal entstammte einem Krainer Geschlecht, das seit Jahrhunderten in Lees, dem heutigen Nova Wes, ansässig war. Der Großvater, Anton Gogala, spæter v. Leesthal, bekleidete als Jurist verschiedene höhere Ämter und war zuletzt Präsident des Stadt- und Landrechts und des Kriminalgerichts in Triest. In erster Ehe war er mit der ältesten Tochter des Fürsten Frany v. Porcia verheiratet. Aus dieser Ehe gingen drei Söhne Franz, Anton und Felix hervor, von denen de r Frany der Vater der Iginia wurde. Er heiratete in Venedig am 24. April 1847 in S. Luca Johanna Seismit - Doda, die Schwester des späteren italienischen Finanzministers Francesco Seismit-Doda. Als Urenkelin des Fürsten Porcia brachte Iginia ihren Kindern die Abstammung von vielen dynastischen und hochadligen Geschlechter.
