    Han overtok husmannsplassen Kvebøkko etter svigerfaren omkring 1850. Han var en berømt jeger, og skulle hå lært å jakte av svigerfaren, som hadde svarte- boka. Om barna, se under kona Kjersti.

    Frøholm skriver:"Pål var ein stor jakt- og fangstmann. Ein gong kom han inn til ein granne, og ba han bli med opp på Heredalsbrynaden, der det gjekk tre villrein, og " me sku skjøte kor sin", sa han. han Pål hadde ikkje vore på fjellet på lenge, men slikt visste han lell, og det gjekk som han hadde sagt. Han onna mykje på Heredale, på ei myr som ennå heite Pålsmyre. Ein "tubbe-Endre" lå i fjellet og onna alle somrar, og sele foret om vinteren til god pris. Ein gong han kom førts til Heredale ville han Pål jage han bort. Båe gjekk berrføtte, og då han Pål ville renne på han Endre, trødde han ned i ljåen hans og skar seg stygt under riste.. Gamle Nils Hemsing laut kjøyre han heim på ei merr, og Endre fekk ha onninga åleine den sommaren. Våren 1871 for han og dottera Berit til Amerika. han hade då med seg 400-500 dalar, som var mykje penger då. Ola T Nefstad ga han 80 dalar for bygsla tå plassen, så denne kom under garden att. I Amerika bodde han hjå døtrene sine, og døyde 4-5 år etter at han kom over dit, visstnok i Wisconsin. Pål hadde tre kyr, av dei sværaste i hænsgaro"
