    Da faren var død, ble det den 16.12.1830, holdt auksjon over gården etter krav fra statskassa. Kjøperen måtte innfri lån på 172 1/2 SPD i Krigshospitalkassa og 100 spd i Norges bank. Gården bl ropt opp for 200 spd, men ingn bød, så ble den ropt op p for 100 spd og Erland fikk tilslaget for 128 spd, som han lånte av statskassa. Da første kona døde i 1834, giftet Elling seg straks igjen med Anne Bunde.

En tid drev Ola gården sammen med svogeren Jon T Lalim, men overlot alt til Torstein da han dro i 1867.
